Dark Moon Entertainment transformed into its current prominence around 2004 as a Production Company and Brand Partnership firm that develops and produces high-profile Broadcast Television programming and Media Content with well-known A-List Celebrity influencers for Networks including ABC Disney, A&E, Amazon, CW, E! Channel, HBO, NBC Universal, Netflix, Showtime, Sony and Viacom. Founded in 1993, it originated as a Talent Agency that successfully developed and booked high-level artists internationally in coordination with WMA and CAA. Booking and producing live events, performances, appearances and experiential, they serviced venues globally with capacities that spanned a wide range between 500-125,000+.
Dawn Robinson is a Producer-Writer in Television and Theatrical Film, leader of the team and a dealmaker recognized for producing and writing music biopics, television specials and non-scripted docuseries, most notably HBO’s The Monster Ball for Lady Gaga, The CW’s America’s Next Top Model, A+E’s Beyoncé and Guns N’ Roses: The Story, Vh1’s Behind the Music and That Metal Show, as well as Producer-Writer of Universal Pictures theatrical release Gunners. Founder of Dark Moon Entertainment, she is an alumnus of NYU and SVA, as well as CAA and WME, with a solid foundation of over 25 years as talent agent and manager in entertainment, over a decade in television and film, and has held corporate governance roles in telecom and fashion. She segued into the scripted space, having written several television dramas and dramedies in development at network level.
The Dalai Lama of Dark Moon, and owner of Invasion TV. A seasoned veteran and award-winning television producer, director and writer, Tim is also Second Vice Chair at the Television Academy (Emmys), and a former President of the Producers Guild of America (PGA). Executive Producer of HBO‘s Curb Your Enthusiasm, Kevin Hart’s Real Husbands of Hollywood, and Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, he has numerous awards and nominations for his work, including Golden Globes, Primetime Emmys, PGA Awards, DGA Awards, NAACP Image Awards, and the Monte-Carlo Television Festival. He began his career at Dick Clark Productions, and was the Executive in Charge of Production for Telepictures for four years. In his career, he’s delivered more than 1,400 hours of television on more than 140 series, specials and pilots.
A 20-plus year veteran in the entertainment industry and owner of Girl on Top, Kat produced Cinemax’s Jett, ABC’s Ten Days in the Valley, CBS’ The Nanny, HBO’s Looking, MTV’s Scream, Oxygen’s Bachelorette Party, as well as Nerdland, Population 436, and Conan O’Brien: Can’t Stop documentary. She served as Co-Executive Producer of the Weinstein Company for several years. As VP of Production for Pariah, she produced ABC’s Twisted, and Jane By Design, TBS’ My Boys, and HBO’s Tell Me You Love Me. Kathy oversees our narrative, alternative and hybrid projects.
Karen is an award winning Visual Effects producer, supervisor and consultant with over 25 years of experience in physical FX production, VFX facility and studio executive roles. Her stellar line of credits include Blade Runner 2049, Furious 7, The Twilight Saga, The Wolfman, The Mist, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone, Ali, Addams Family Values, Waterworld, Jerry Maguire, The Matrix and Titanic (where she worked with James Cameron directly) with every studio including Warner Brothers, Columbia, Sony, Paramount, 20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures. As a lead, Karen spearheads all of our special and visual effects efforts in film, television and beyond.
Michéle is an Emmy winning, #1 hit music producer, arranger, songwriter and publisher who composes for artists, films, television, ads, promos and games. Her music can be heard on radio & television every day, with hit songs all over the world, and over 5000 television and film placements including Downsizing, Orange is the New Black, Pretty Little Liars, Victorious, iCarly, Degrassi High, Sons of Anarchy, King of the Hill, Nashville, The Hills, The View, The Biggest Loser, Punk’d, Dead Like Me, The Romanoffs, Ugly Betty, and The Office. Michéle wrote a worldwide hit with Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys), and developed sensations KE$HA, pop urban artist Joelle James, and a plethora of Disney and Nickelodeon Stars. She is married to hit maker, acclaimed Producer/Engineer Harry Maslin, known for his work with David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Lou Reed and Bonnie Raitt.
Jennifer began her journey in film 20 years ago, launching her career as an Associate Producer on the CBS hit television series, The Nanny. Since then, Jennifer has produced multiple award winning music videos, including CMA and VMA’s, contracting work with major record labels for artists working in all genres, including Blake Shelton, My Chemical Romance, Slayer, Sheryl Crow, Pink, Gwen Stefani, John Mayer and Eminem. She and her partner, director Peter Zavidil, are committed to bringing any musician’s work to life on film.
Steve heads our live concert, experiential, and event production coverage. President of Continental Colour Post Production, Steve’s network credits include ABC’s American Music Awards, NBC’s Winter Olympics, CBS’ Tony Awards, Country Music Awards, and The Grammy’s, CBS Sports’ Pan American Games, and Michelin Pilot Experience. Live concerts include MTV’s No Quarter Paige and Plant, FOX’s Paul McCartney’s The Now Tour, PBS’ Jean Michel Jarre’s Oxygen Moscow, BBC’s The WHO Quadrophenia as well as Award nominated documentaries including Paul McCartney’s Movin On on BBC, Jean Michel Jarre’s RTE: Making a Steamroller Fly on PBS, Woodstock Then and Now on VH1 and History Channel, Vanity Fair’s Decades.
An expert television producer based in Los Angeles, Megan has over seven years supervising and producing various award winning doc-reality shows, including hit series such as Discovery’s Deadliest Catch, Bering Sea Gold, and Airplane Repo, History’s Ice Road Truckers, Ax Men, and Billion Dollar Wreck, TruTV’s Black Gold, AMC’s Game of Arms, and CNBC’s Jay Leno’s Garage. She’s our hand-on Docuseries Production guru.
Sean is a 28-year Film, TV and Commercial veteran who trained at Edward R Murrow, SUNY Purchase, Parsons School of Design, Brooklyn College and Tennessee Williams Fine Art Center for Film and TV, worked alongside top directors, DPs and producers including Joel and Ethan Coen, Spike Lee, Vilmos Zsigmond, Russell Carpenter, Joe Pitka, Bob Giraldi for all the top ad agencies including Ogilvy, Saatchi and Saatchi, Metzner Viteri, Weiden Kennedy, McCann Ericson, R/GA DDB, Deutsch, making over 1000 national commercials for Fortune 100 companies including American Express, Visa, Chase, McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, Hasbro, Mattel, Lucas Films LTD, Lens Crafters, Nike, MCI, Microsoft, AOL Time Warner, Victoria Secret, Clinique, NBA, HBO and Olympus Cameras as well as re-branding campaign of Macmillan Publishing and Macmillan Learning. Sean directed 10 TV pilots and produced 8 corporate documentaries, web commercials, and a feature documentary.
An Academy award nominated producer with 18+ years of progressive entertainment industry experience, Dave manages and executes production across television, film and digital platforms in the documentary space, known for his work on Super Size Me, Homeless to Happiness, The Financial Physician, The Third Wave, and MTV’s I Bet You Will. He’s a highly skilled QC project manager delivering on time and on budget. He also touts 8 years as a successful software developer, scrum master and project manager developing Enterprise Applications for several Fortune 500 clients.
Tod Waters is the founder of Junker Designs, a fashion outfit for rockstars. His own original designs tend to be something out of Mad Max apocalyptica: mutated, overdyed, rusted, painted, buried or bled, and made from denim, leather, and whatever else he can find in the dirty streets of Los Angeles. His collaborations with filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron, include From Dusk Til Dawn, and Alita Battle Angel. He does exclusive wardrobe for Criss Angel, and has clothed A-list celebs including, but not limited to Johnny Depp, Margret Cho, Britney Spears, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Steven Tyler, Marilyn Manson and (our very own) Slash.
Donna McKenna is an award winning, international casting director, producer, and educator. With more than 20 years of experience she has cast and produced dozens of independent features, short films, television shows, pilots and web series. Her work can be seen in theatrical release, and on Amazon Prime, Apple and Direct TV. Donna loves actors and has a passion for discovering new talent. She teaches film and acting workshops at schools across the globe, including NYU Tisch School of Drama and the Screen Actors Guild NYCAP Program. Donna is a proud member of the Casting Society of America, New York Women in Film & TV and an appointed member of the Board of the Suffolk County Film Commission.
Joey is our sound designer and engineer extraordinaire. As President, Founder, Producer and Engineer, he owns and operates Method of Groove in Brooklyn, and The Nest in Long Island, NY, — where he produces, engineers, mixes, records and does post-sound packages for musicians and producers alike. His credits include our series Rock Chefs, Meats Sweets & Treats, and Grindhouse Radio. He is also known as guitarist for the band Life of Agony.
Born and bred in Brooklyn, Max is a graduate of McGill University and Juilliard School of Drama where he co-founded Juilliard Film Festival and received the Juilliard Career Advancement Fellowship, and The Jonathan Madrigano Entrepreneurship Award for his first film, 18 Actors. Founder and Artistic Director of Backyart — a monthly multi-disciplinary arts event in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, showcased work from over 250+ individual artists and collectives working in all mediums over its three-year span. His professional credits include Ivo van Hove’s Tony Award winning A View From the Bridge, the world premiere of Kenneth Lin’s (House of Cards, Sweetbitter) political thriller Kleptocracy, and the revival of Oscar winner Tony Kushner’s A Bright Room Called Day at The Public Theater. Recent credits include Netflix Longmire, HBO’s Succession and upcoming independent film Down the Barrel. Max produced and directed 6 short films, a 12-part web series featuring David Corenswet, artist media exhibition content, two commercials, and multiple narrative features.
